St John's Primary School Animation

Artists Emma Boor and Rachel Clarke worked with Year 5 / 6 to recreate an emigration journey of a Weardale lead mining family from 1880. We visited the Weardale Museum on Monday 9th to learn what life was like in the 1880s and we made collages with paints and photographs.

On Tuesday Liz Bregazzi from Durham Records Office worked with us on emigration posters and letters. On Wednesday we made our story from what we had learnt on previous days. On Thursday we made puppets and animations. We also learnt our lines and rehearsed with our puppets.

On Friday morning we performed our story 'Emigration To New Zealand' for friends and family and here it is.
